Share Who is Benni McCarthy?

 

The beginning of his career in soccer started in South Africa with Seven Stars, an 18-year-old McCarthy scored 27 goals in 29 games in the 1995-96 seasons. Earning him a transfer to Cape Town Spurs, this merged with his old side two years later to form Ajax Cape Town.
In 1997, he joined Ajax in Holland and scored nine goals in his first season, winning the league as well. After a relatively successful 1998-99 seasons he was sold to Spanish side Celta Vigo for a sum reported to be over €6 million, at the time the most expensive transfer for a South African player.

A day after being arrested on suspicion of the daughter of former Manchester City player, Antoine Sibierski, has been found hanged.
Sibylle Sibierski, who was 18, was discovered by police at a flat in Altrincham after they forced the door open on Monday. There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, police added.

Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama saved a spot-kick and scored the decisive penalty in a 5-4 shootout victory over Zambia that put the Super Eagles through to the African Nations Cup semi-finals yesterday. Enyeama saved Zambia defender Thomas Nyirenda's attempt then kept his composure to slot past opposite number Kennedy Mweene. The quarter-final finished goalless after extra time.
