All events happening in South Africa in a month of January

Johannesburg International Mozart Festival (Parktown)

When: Saturday, 25 January 2014 to Sunday, 09 February 2014
Where: Parktown

Now in it's 9th year the Johannesburg International Mozart Festival will be showcasing musical excellence. The theme this year is Exploring Musical Hemispheres. The festival started in 2006 to commemorate Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 250th birthday anniversary and has grown into a well loved classical music festival.

Johnson Crane Marathon and Half Marathon (Benoni)

When: Sunday, 26 January 2014
Where: Benoni

This is a circular route with the half marathon being one lap of the route and the marathon two laps of the same route. The start at the Benoni small holdings take the runner through Rynfield and Northmead before the easy and flat sections at High Road.

Battlefields 4-in-1 (Newcastle)

When: Saturday, 08 February 2014
Where: Newcastle

This event is made up of five distances; a 50km, 42.2, 21.1, 10km and 5km. The 50 km route is out and back and the historic race has a well balanced course with a few hills in all the right places!

The first section incorporates a climb of about seven kilometres after-which there is a bit of a break with about 10kms of relaxed, easy running.

Stellenbosch Wine Festival (Stellenbosch)

When: Friday, 24 January 2014 to Sunday, 02 February 2014
Where: Stellenbosch

Take a peek into the heart of the Cape Winelands at the Stellenbosch Wine Festival. Stellenbosch was voted the international Wine Region of the Year and here you can experience the top quality produce from these vineyards in this magnificent area.

The festival takes place at the same time as the annual harvest and will allow you the opportunity to join in the festivities and learn more about the people and history of the area as well as sink your teeth into some delicious food and sample spectacular wines.

Langebaan Downwind Dash (Langebaan)

When: Saturday, 25 January 2014
Where: Langebaan

20 km giant slalom from Langebaan to Saldanha - open to windsurfers, kites, catamarans and dinghies.

To be held on the 25th January 2014. Pre-registration on line or on the
beach from 11h00 on the day of the race. First possible start 15h00. Hold
over dates if conditions are unfavourable 26th January and 8th or 9th Februay
