We Welcome The Idea: Thailand Is Considering A Tourist Court

Thailand is known as one of the countries where the laws are very strict, to everyone in their ground including the tourists.

The country is now considering launching a travellers court, so make cases involving travellers fast.

Wanderlust reports that the Minister of Tourism, Somsak Pureesrisak, hopes that this will help make the safety of travellers a higher priority and comes after a number of high profile attacks on travellers in popular tourist hubs.

"The state should increase punishment against those who commit crimes like robbery and assault on tourists," he said.

Thailand's Ministry of Justice is now working alongside the Tourism Ministry to set up the new courts.

The first one is set to be opened in Bangkok, with similar institutions in Pattaya, Phuket, Samui and Chiang Mai.

The Tourist Courts will reportedly be held at existing district courts and will be open for service in evenings and during the night.
