Can Darker Paint Change Your Space
Can Darker Paint Change Your Space

A frequently asked interior design question is “How does darker paint affect the visual design and appearance of a room?”

Often people are afraid of picking out darker colours for their homes as they are afraid it would make a space appear small or cramped up.

A dark colour when surrounded by a lighter colour tends to recede in a room which means it makes the wall look as if it is further away. On the other hand light colours reflect. Therefore light colored rooms work best when they have a large amount of natural light to bounce around in them.

Lighter-colored ceilings and deep toned walls will allow natural and artificial light to reflect throughout the room and avoid giving it a cramped feel.

What do you think? Have you tried bringing dark colors into your home? Any success?
