Create a Water Paradise
Create a Water Paradise

Water has always played an integral part of gardens for centuries and has often symbolized mystical or religious beliefs.

With all the different styles to choose from there is a water feature to suit every garden be it for a religious reason or just for aesthetic reasons.

Position- choosing a spot for your water feature will depend on the overall garden design. You should ensure that your water feature remains a focal point, where it will always be seen.

Lighting – include lighting to emphasise the water movement in the evenings. Lighting the dramatic fall of water with other features and plant material around will play an important part of creating a desired effect.

The house – water features should complement the architecture and surroundings of the house. For example do not put a classical water feature into a contemporary styled house.

Space – many think that you need a grand scale garden in order to have a water feature but this is not true. Water features are great for small gardens as they create height. Cleverly situated your feature can enhance the area by drawing attention away from the fact that the area is small.

Size matters- create the illusion of a larger area by using a smaller feature in the distance. In a larger area you can bring places together by using a larger feature.
