Women Who Pioneer The Business World
Women Who Pioneer The Business World

I don’t know who said “begin with an end in mind”, and what they were going through at that time but looking at this women, i understand the meaning and what could have prompted that person to create that quote, they survived the odd’s their circumstances and struggles maybe world's apart from each other but they all have one thing in common they are survivors and are pioneering the business world.

Oprah Winfrey

Who doesn’t know the story of Oprah birthed by a teenage mother, being molested by relatives. Oprah made it big.  Not only is she the world’s first black billionaire, Oprah has endless business ventures and it all began somewhere in Nashville where Oprah’s passion for talking, reading and writing landed her first job as a news reporter at 16. From than she never looked back and only  got bigger and better.

Today she is the  proud owner of OWN network and supports a number of charities including her own academy for girls.

Estée Lauder

Is a women behind every second cosmetic product you touch, she founded the Estée Lauder cosmetic company years ago long with her late husband.

Estée was born in 1906 and was one of 9 children in her house; her childhood was spent trying to make ends helping in the family hardware. She worked there but when she reached high school Estee agreed to help her uncle Dr John Schotz, a chemist. He owned a company called New Way Laboratories and all the day long he sold numerous beauty products. Lauder was fascinated as she watched him create creams, lotions, rouge, and fragrances. Her uncle taught her how to wash her face and do facial massages. She graduated from Newtown High School. After high school, she focused on her uncle's business. She called one of his creams Super Rich All-Purpose Cream and began selling beauty products to her friends

From there she learned how to mix products for her own beauty products, years later she married had children and started her own line as they say the rest is history she was the only woman in TIME magazine's 1998 list of the 20 most influential business geniuses of the 20th century.

She said in an interview once” I have never worked a day in my life without selling. If I believe in something, I sell it, and I sell it hard”. And we still are buying that even though she is no more.

Anne Cox Chambers

She might not started the company from scratch but she deserves a pet in the shoulder for keeping her family business going for years and making sure that it does not sink and gets better by the day.

Wu Yajun

This former Journalist, did I say journalist, is a real estate agent in China and a self made billionaire, you can imagine how big this is he has extra ordinary story behind her success.

Shares in Wu’s Hong Kong-listed real estate developer Long for Properties rose by a quarter from a year earlier, and contract sales for 2010 soared 81% from a year earlier to $5 billion. From its roots in Chongqing in central China, Longfor has been expanding in relatively profitable markets in first-tier cites. Longfor listed its shares in Hong Kong Nov. 2009. Wu shares her fortune with her husband, who also holds a stake in the company.
