Director James Cameron's 3-D epic Avatar rakes in an estimated $232 million worldwide. The movie cost $430 million to make and market. This movie was the biggest debut for a movie that was not a sequel. Bad weather in the US and Canada limited the sales, as they raked in $73 million. I am Legend still takes the lead with $77.2 million two years ago. Avatar collected $159.2 million internationally. “You don't often get a massive event movie like this that combines spectacle and scale with great reviews and word of mouth,” Fox co-Chairman Jim Gianopulos said, adding: “That's why we have such wonderful anticipation for the rest of the holiday season and well into the new year.”

Singer Beyonce Knowles has released her first scent named Heat. She will launch it in February, and it is already estimated to bring in more than $100 million for the fragrance industry. The Single Ladies singer has been the face of fragrances for Giorgio Armani’s Diamond, and Tommy Hilfiger’s True Star. Her new fragrance has been put together from scratch. Red vanilla orchid and magnolia with giant sequoia milkwood and almond macaroon were blended together to make her fragrance. Test subjects? Fans of course... “I was on tour for a year, and I have meet-and-greets with fans. I’ve never in my life gotten so many compliments. Coty has their own testing, but that was my testing!
