DIY: Christmas Stockings

One of the most useful Christmas crafts are Christmas stockings. Children love waking up on Christmas day to a stocking full of sweets and toys. These are easy to make and will serve as a lovely Christmas decoration around your home this festive season.

What you will need

Things you will need:

  • Pieces of felt
  • Simple stocking pattern
  • Ribbons
  • Glue
  • Thread

Instructions:

  1. Place the stocking pattern on a piece of coloured felt. The pattern can be created by simply tracing a bought stocking or by using a pattern available on the internet.
  2. You will need two parts for each stocking, choose fun Christmas colours to match up together
  3. Pin the two cut pieces together, and do a blanket stitch around the edge, sewing the two pieces of the stocking together.
  4. Place a loop of ribbon inside the top of the stocking to be used to hang up the stocking.
  5. The stocking can then be decorated with many things such as pieces of felt, sequins and rhinestones. You could also use holly leaves, small pine cones and berries. You may even write the child’s name on it with glitter.
