Country singer, Carrie Underwood, always look fantastic when she appears on stage. The Grammy Award winner was often criticized by the media for her “fuller figure" earlier on in her career. Up to present Carrie has managed to shed 20 pounds since first appearing on American Idols despite her obsession with cheese and can teach one a thing or two about how to keep their body weight under control.
Carrie follows a vegetarian diet and is very conscious about what she takes in. “I’m slightly obsessive-compulsive about what I eat, more than I should be. I write down everything I eat,” she says. She keeps a diary of her food intake and in this way can monitor her calories intake.
Avoiding to diet by day and binge by night Carrie’s diary helps her calculate leeway calories she can take in at night after subtracting those she had already consumed during the day. On days where she ate well she gives herself a reward. “I give myself stickers, like a kindergartener” she says.

A vegetarian, she begins the day with soy based “sausage”. However, to keep her diet plan working she has her indulgence moments where she treats herself to pizza, chocolate, ice cream and cheese. It is called cheating on diet and many celebs have confessed that it works for them.
However, Carrie does not keep junk lying around. br />

“It’s important not to have a whole lot of junk food lying around,” she says “If you don’t have it in your refrigerator or cabinet, there’s less of a chance you’re going to eat it.”
Carrie’s Workout
Carrie does not only dedicate her toned body to the wonders of vegetable diet. She does cardio workout, uses a treadmill, exercise ball and swims for exercise. She says she works out only when it suits her schedule.
“My legs have always been really muscular. Actually, if I work them out a lot, they can get, like, really big, so I do lots of squats and running,” she says. “I work out four to six days a week. Even if I don’t do a lot, I just do cardio. It makes me feel better.”
Carrie might be a highly paid Hollywood singer but when it comes to following her diet, we can all be leading ladies in our own right by simply introducing the same healthy lifestyle habits. After all, calculating your calories intake wouldn’t be that difficult. With just that little effort and cutting down your meet intake, who knows? You might shed 20 pounds in no time, just like she did.
